Media Center
Welcome to Ladonia's Media Center
The mission of the Ladonia Elementary Library Media Center is to ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information and to promote a love of reading in a warm, welcoming environment. Our library media program utilizes a combination of fixed and flexible scheduling. All students visit the library with their class on a regular schedule. Students are allowed to visit the library independently to check out books and to utilize print and online resources.
-
Kindergarten & 1st grade students may check out one book. It is at the discretion of the classroom teacher if library books are taken home.
2nd-5th grade students may check out up to two books.
All books are checked out for two weeks. Students may recheck a book if the book has not been reserved for another student or teacher.
Reference materials and magazines are not available for check-out and must be used within the confines of the media center unless special permission is given.
Overdue Materials – Students who have overdue materials may not check out materials until the overdue materials are returned. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Lost/Damaged Books – All lost or damaged books must be paid for in full. The cost for each book varies. A copy of the information for the book can be obtained in the library. Fees are to be paid in the office before the student is allowed to check out another book.
-
It is important for all students to remember proper behavior in the library. It is a quiet place for all students and staff to use. Our library behavior expectations have been discussed with all of our students:
- Be respectful
- Be responsible
- Follow directions
- Take care of our materials
- Take a bathroom break before coming to the library.
